Suncatchers

Miniscule specks of flaws and beauty reflected as a whole.

By Kayleigh LanyonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
"We are the world's suncatchers"

Beams of light fracture into a thousand rainbows

Every color imaginable in a gem so clear

A ray of sun sets the room aglow

Illuminating all that’s near

A personality in a diamond ball

Transformed and told to shine

The brilliance of color caressing the wall

Portraying the life in my mind

The inner sanctum of my soul

Lit up from within

Life may take an ugly toll

But the light will always win

Rainbows dance among the shadows

Though the darkness yet remains

Wind blows softly through the meadows

Showering the world with rain

As the dark gray clouds of despair depart

We all breathe in once more

Our mind’s true thoughts declared as art

Scattered across the floor

At a distance you see the diamond

Pure and crystalline

Look closer and the view is brightened

With a tiny stream of sunshine

Flaws hidden in the sparkles

Invisible to the naked eye

Walls built up like castles

Ever reaching for the sky

We are the diamonds and the rainbows

Countless paths merged as one

We stand with strength among our foes

Underneath the yellow sun

Through the darkness of this plane

We fight the odds together

Our light exuding from our pain

We are the world’s suncatchers.
