Sun-Kissed Stage
On Finishing a College Degree.
I walk one step
For every “I can’t do this”.
I take one breath
For every tear I shed.
I shake one hand
For every sleepless night.
I take this degree,
and close the door
on the demons behind me
and every twisted lie they spit.
I walk across this sun-kissed stage,
bathing the world in my own radiance.
