Summer Solstice
A Testament to Nature and the Resolve of the Mortal Spirit
By Alexandria SmithPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

You are as beautiful
As you choose to be
Soft as summer solstice
Like dandelion heads
Fleeced and golden
Tentatively emerging
From the rich, damp
Ochre of the earth
Languorously arching,
Stretching towards the
Brilliance of the sun and
All that it has to offer
The aphorisms of
Your essence radiating
From the tender curve
Of flushed cheeks,
The delicate lilt of
A stolen glance,
The endless, ineffable
Swell of a contented smile
Like ripened sweetmelon
Milky white skin carefully
Dappled peach, then pink
A joyous, unassuming
Exaltation of existence
An immutable effigy
To the quiet resolve
Of the mortal spirit
