To be once more where skies are blue and clear
Where air is sweet as morning dew’s clean kiss
The sun glows bright and golden light is dear
How sweet that quiet calm with her is bliss
Sitting atop our green grass blanket hill
While side by side each lost in world’s apart
The words we read give our own minds their fill
Gone far away yet two books share a heart
But perhaps her thoughts drift so far from now
Know that the writer takes her from my side
To make her smile at unknown tales somehow
She’s not all mine though comfort friends provide
For I know she is near and chose in me
Separate stories in shared company
