Stressed, but Blessed
For Laura Pruett's "Holidays? Holy Days? Pen It To Win It!" Challenge
From Halloween frights
To “Holy Nights,”
Thanksgiving meals, together,
And shopping sprees
To trimming trees
And bundling for the weather -
*
The Holidays!
A maddening maze
That leads into December
When, finally,
The Christmas tree
Inspires us to remember
*
That life, itself,
My little elf,
Is ours, just for the taking
And Santa's real,
And love can heal
A heart that might be breaking.
*
So, Trick- or-Treat,
Give thanks and eat
And all throughout the Season,
May your eyes gaze,
These Holidays,
On your own, special reason.
