Go ahead and pick one up.
They are everywhere.
Round, firm, bent, or straight.
Every one a unique Earth share.
Loved by all ages they are around us.
With some instruction,
You can tell the weather or see how they bounce
on pools of water giving satisfaction.
Averting worries and helping us leave addiction
Take one with you where you go
There is nothing better than the
humble stone.
This short poem is an ode to the humble stone. There is not a person on Earth who can walk by a nice round stone and not pick it up, put it in their pocket, and continue on their day. What is it about rocks that spark love and curiosity?
