cradled in a thought
a moment yet to be
the fly before the swat
the thread unraveling your peace
waiting for the shoe to drop
a whisper held between your teeth
expecting the green-light at the stop
the prize that's waiting underneath
the flickered spark before the blast
the gasp awaiting to be freed
the skid before the crash
at accelerating speeds
the fluttering leaf still falling
because the falling is so simple
a secret so enthralling
just to know it, stirs the ripple

Excellent poem… I had no success dreaming anything up for this challenge 😵💫. I really liked: “a whisper held between your teeth expecting the green-light at the stop”✅
I always try to roll into traffic lights, waiting for it to turn haha. "expecting the green-light at the stop". I like how many different examples you have here of waiting, and the anticipation. Good luck in the challenge Kelli!😊
I think we all thought along these written lines in working through various situations or I read the poem wrong.
Wonderfully done, Kelli
