Still Water

(Still Water) By: Jd Kirk

Heavens collide

And tides will rise,

In your eyes tonight, I see a storm.

Through that embrace,

Our hearts a tempest in rage,

As we lay beside the still water.

We met over shots

And so soon were lost.

First impressions with no direction.

When the whiskey cleared

Those ships had already crossed,

Leaving me with a fading reflection.

Heavens collide,

so tides can rise,

In your arms I feel the storm.

Through that embrace

Our lives a tempest in place

As we walk beside the still water.

We met over breakfast,

Son warming your eyes

Introduced again by the winds of fate.

I could see clear,

Soft breath so near,

All the nights gone in our wake.

Heavens collide,

Our tides always rise,

In your eyes I see our storm.

Through that embrace,

Our lives are forever enlaced,

As we drift across the still water.

JD Kirk

A torrid affair of seriousness and, well, not-so-much. We like all things from recipes to romance to rhythm to mayhem.
