Stealing the Spotlight

In Eclipse acrostic poem challenge

By Heather HagyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Top Story - April 2024

Every chance I get to shine bright, I can

Count on you to ruin my best moment

Lurking like a shadowy villain, you

Invade my space and darken my limelight

Painful as your upstaging is, I feel

Saddened by your frantic need for favor

Even as crowds applaud your thievery

sad poetry

About the Creator

Heather Hagy

Stephen King fan (but not like Annie "I'm your #1 fan" Wilkes cuz I'm sane and she's not)

Horror/supernatural are my favorite writing genres

Wife to 1 and mom to 4 humans, 4 dogs, 6 cats, and a dragon

"Jaws" is the greatest movie ever

The first line feels so hopeful and the second smashes it down. Amazing emotion in this. Congrats on the Top Story!
