and just like that,

she had allowed herself to grow roots into him like a tree does the earth,

only this time,

the earth was steady,

he did not falter,

did not waver,

did not crumble beneath the overwhelming weight of her,

like those before him.

And for once in her life,

she too grew leaves,

and branches,

allowing her to feel the suns warmth once again.

And when the storms came,

he moulded the earth around her,

soothing her turbulent mind with

everlasting reminders,

that she may bend,

but she will not break.

That she is not alone,

that he would be her shelter until she grew branches thick enough to be her own.

But even then,

he told her,

he would be there.

then,

they would reach for the sky,

together.

Beautiful. What we all hope for, steady ground on which to grow. So wonderful when found in a relationship.
