Explanation.
On my published page I have 8 comments and 12 likes...yet back in stats
I have 25 reads and 12 hearts/likes.
This is so confusing.
So 25 people read it, but only 8 commented. Thank you. And 12 were kind enough to leave a heart.
So I now assume that 25-8=17. 17 people neither liked nor disliked the story...leaving me with a very neutral conundrum.
Ok. I get it. ☀ I think. Thank you all.

You also get outside readers who read without joining Vocal, so they don't heart or comment. That's a good thing since Vocal pays by reads, though admittedly it ain't much. My hope in using these platforms is that my work will stick around after I am gone. If I was doing this for the money, I would already have starved... haha.

Your right! there are a lot of silent readers here who don't bother to interact. And from past questions on this, one of the reasons for off balanced stats is the reader doesn't stay on the page long enough to register a read, especially for haikus. One minute is the shortest duration for any story but it only takes 5-10 seconds to read a haiku, so it doesn't register a read if they just heart the story and move on. For longer stories it may be the same since there are speed readers out there, lol. There are other reasons for inconsistent stats too but this one is the most popular. Not sure if vocal can do anything about this particular one.
Yeah the stats page is kinda broken. Sometimes it will show a couple people liked your post but zero people read it, which doesn’t seem like it’s even possible so it must be an error.
