I shudder to think
Where I would be now
If the fire
The light I see by
Had already gone out
Before I had even woken
Risen from my bed
Raised my eyes
To search the horizon
⋆。°✩ ☁ 🌑 ☁ ✩°。⋆
I spotted it there
Strained my eyes
Jumped in and swam
With all of my might
Left shore behind
Without a second thought
Siren song in my heart
Drawing me out across the sea
I called back to shore
Upon hearing nothing
I abandoned my fetid past
The dazzling light of the Muse
Brightened my somber world
Basking, I reflected her generosity
Ricocheting rays
If one surface, they would grace
On their journey abroad
Mission fulfilled
⋆。°✩ ☁ 🌑 ☁ ✩°。⋆
Every gauzy note
Has been perilously wrote
Not a single one promised
Or wholly my own
It could have happened so easily
Inspiration snatched
From the dewy stardust
Song stolen from my
Muse’s honey-coated throat
A golden silence instead of
Blessings for my begging soul
⋆。°✩ ☁ 🌑 ☁ ✩°。⋆
Now I pay my gratitude forward
For the savior of sound
I know the key to
Memory's origins
Lay inside a single perfect
Clarifying sound
It rocked me to my
Terrified core ending all doubt
Creating one powerful motion
Sweeping through my essence
Validating the shedding
Of my former life
⋆。°✩ ☁ 🌑 ☁ ✩°。⋆
It can propel you into the rapids
Of reality
Dash you on the cliffs of empathy
At the base of your destination
A fitting release into
The constellation of dreamers
A journey you never aimed for
But are scheduled for arrival
