Spider Cobweb

You don't have to kill critters who don't serve your purpose

Cobweb @Seema

This is the time,

cobwebs are formed

everywhere.

Some folks are

intolerant,

call exterminators

to remove.

Soon, they will hang

artificial webs

to decorate their yard.

Storytelling and consumption

wins over compassion,

and understanding

of the ecological balance.

Have you ever stopped

to admire the reticulum?

I have, often.

So tenuous, intricate,

often in foggy mornings,

dew-laced, it’s surreal,

like a pearl necklace,

laboriously-crafted

by a tiny arachnid.

Yes, some of them

can bite, inject poison,

but let me be clear:

your deodorants

and food preservatives

are injecting more venom,

to your system.

If not provoked,

the spider,

doesn’t bother,

I know it sure.

Let the cobweb

be there—

and you admire

its unique beauty,

and be inspired.

Spiderwebs are works of art. Like in Charlotte's Web for a fun example.
