SPEAKER FOR THE DEAD

Speaker for the dead

They dub me this today

The spirits in the room

Guiding me in life

I can’t hear them speak

But voices in my heart

Whisper of the passed

The warriors of this Earth

Much pain they surely bore

Within their mortal frame

And now, passed on, they wait

For me to write them free

They died and we were sad

But grief knows us, not they

For free from earthly hurt

They sing among the stars

And now they sing to me

And guide this humble pen

To tell you all one thing

So lend an open heart

From life passed on, are we

But full of peace and love

We’ve not forgotten you

But know you weep for us

Please dry your somber tears

Your time is on this earth

We’ll see you soon, just wait

But don’t let us deter

We died so you may live

So you may carry on

We’re in each other's thoughts

helping you be strong

We’ll be there right beside you

In every step you walk

And when your soul is quiet

You will hear us talk
