A love poem I had written when I was 16 years old for a now Ex-Boyfriend

My life never seems to want to be told

My heart never made the right beat in time

My thoughts never seemed so right

Until I looked into your eyes

One Beat. two Beats.

Oh, no you looked away

My first glance and you seemed to not know.

What is this tune my heart’s playing?

It is so unfamiliar

So out of my soul it seems

Oh please tell me so is your heart beating slow?

Is your soul screaming?

No need to be noticed It never matter to me

My path has no light

I’ve lost my footing

i’m about to fall

Everything is all blurry

I never thought I’ll hear someone else’s soul say

Oh it’s you. It’s you. I found you today

You hold out your hand

It’s all so clear

The paths have merged

What is this I shout out

My soul? My heart?

They seem to say

I love you. I love you.

Hold me. Hold me.

I cry out your here

Your here

Your now

You have no wings?

No way?

But your him?

The one without armor it seems

A warrior its clear to see it all

No x-ray version needed

I see it through your eyes

They are not telling me lies

Oh, i’m looking at him now.

Not batman. Not superman.

Not even robin is in tow

His hands so strong

Yet so gently

They hold my near

I thought it be true

Please don’t go

Don’t follow

Just lead

You led me this far

It seems safe to say

I love you

And your all mine today

And the very next day

You’ll still be mine

And we’ll still be in love

No matter what they say.
