Soulmates Are Real
And memories don't let us forget.

We remember things that affect us,
That leaves imprints and memories to bear.
Like that strong tug on your heart by a stranger,
That feels like a climactic soulmate affair
I would never have believed,
That on some Summer’s eve,
In an airport among hundreds of faces.
I’d be taken with one,
As time stopped while the world spun,
In a crowd in the busiest of places.
I saw you before you saw me;
And found reasons to glance your way.
I swear I smiled each time you did,
Feeling hit by one Cupid's arrow astray.
It was silly the annoyance I felt,
When I realized you would not be seated with me.
And I spent the flight, thinking about your eyes;
It was me I wished they could see.
As I thought about you for the six hours we flew.
Amused by the thoughts I then chose to allow.
Upon landing, I stepped into the aisle,
And as I walked passed you, you smiled and said “wow”
The moments we shared after from that brief, quick encounter
Are forever etched into my brain.
And though your face may have faded as time slowly erased it,
A smile still forms as I bring forth this memory again.
