Sonnet #6

Gems

By ChampionElCidPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In deepest stone and darkest cave is found

The rarest gems of true worth and beauty

With colors bright and pure their shape is round

But dark and dirt obscure them all to see

Will thou hide away? Where then is thy sight

Down deep in sunken earth which like a grave

Doth hide all witness to thy beauties light

But holds a treasure only for the brave

Who journey down to mine the precious stone

Like lovers who seek favor from a girl

So that they might in love not be alone

Would face the dragon's might all in a whirl

For you my love I'd travel down to hell

To pluck your gem from deep within its well
