Why does it seem that love will elude me?
Many years now no sweet girl to embrace
I bear strong appearance to those that see
Within I hide a melancholy face
I wonder sometimes about lovers past
Wherefore did they leave? What could have been done?
Should I have said more to make the love last?
Was this a battle I could not have won?
All of these doubts play cruel in my mind
They say I will not, They say do not try
There is no hope of a lover to find
At times alone in darkness I will cry
But come what may, be it fortune or stress
I will always make effort to impress
