Summer's Day Entry

Oh! My mid-summer fling,
Heat surges and breaks me as I imagine her,
When she brings that one thing,
Strong urges captain my ship and it’s all a blur,
She bares it all to me,
More than her given heady flesh and desire,
That comes way too easy,
In greasy summer alleys and streets afire,
Maskless becomes her face,
When she retreats recklessly into her soul,
She calls me to her place,
And I weigh anchor south of reason and control,
Now I am embedded,
By her grace and mercy will dwell forever there,
Now I am indebted,
I’ll give my days and dimes to breathe her salty air.

BETTY A McEachern
I read because I'm nosey. I love words, and stories, and make-believe, and knowledge. I can't stand knowing there are words on a page if I don't know what they say. I write for the same reasons.
