Cosmic Lover

A love affair of cosmic proportions

If the universe is so incredibly vast

If it is beyond our comprehension

If we can never reach infinity

If our galaxy is just one of a million

If time means nothing

And reality is a myth

Why do we keep going

Why do we exist

Is it so we can share in the magic

Is it so we can dance with the stars

Is it because love is immortal

And we are conduits just as we are

Maybe the cosmos is just a grand display of love

That romances and enthralls us

Like a siren song from above

We are enraptured by her beauty

An array of colors so vivid and pure

She softly kisses our minds

And tempts us with her allure

She whispers simple sonnets

As we watch the stars at night

They wink and blink in the dark

Pursuing us with gentle light

We are embraced by her gravity

It holds us as a tender lover

We are invaded by her oxygen

Its life-giving mystery our tether

The moon, in all her seductive wisdom

Beckons us to experience her pleasure

While the sun give us sweet after warmth

As we lie in the arms of another

All of this and more

The romantic pursuit of a cosmos in longing

She was beautiful on her own

But maybe this love story was the calling
