Night’s fire no longer crackling
Morning sun on limber saplings
Bows taut, snap like gingerbread
Wait for the dawn to get cracking
-
Frost’s music, waiting to be read
In notes written on paths less tread
Not just to death do they allude
Winter’s song bids us look ahead
-
Listen to ev’ry interlude
Diamond wind chimes set the mood
A mournful winter’s melody
Whistling tunes of solitude
-
Wreathed in fog, we wait breathlessly
For winter’s summer elegy
Writ in dawn’s ink, transcendently
Sung by birds reverentially

This is a lovely, soothing tribute to Frost. Well done!
You captured the quiet stillness of a cold winter morning perfectly. I especially love the nod to Robert Frost. The line "Frost’s music, waiting to be read" is so clever and poetic. It really gives the sense that even in the cold and solitude, there's a chance to look ahead. Great work!
Love this—so chill and wintry, yet full of life! ❄️ The images dance like ice crystals in sunlight. I can almost hear the diamond wind chimes tinkling. 🎶
Oooo, diamond wind, I especially loved that! Your poem was so beautiful!
I am eager to read more poetry written in dawn's ink!
Like Andrea, I loved the diamond wind chimes too. Lovely imagery.
Beautiful - love the double usag/allusion to 'Frost' and the road less traveled!! This whole piece is quite magical. :)
Would a lovely poem, Sean. I love the “diamond wind chimes.”
