Somewhere by Lolly Vieira
A poem I wrote after an eventful session in therapy. Shout out to my wonderful therapist!
you reach your full potential
by going through the healing
but the healing can’t begin
without the process of accepting
denial gets you nowhere
which is a dark and lonely place
nowhere is filled with
n o t h i n g
and
n o o n e
you
just
can’t
connect
so do the messy part
move past your own stubbornness
learn to let go
do the ugly crying to help you heal
go somewhere
something is better than nothing
someone is better than no one
don’t let yourself fall through the cracks
better to do a bad job at the hard work
than no work at all
