Sometimes, We Forget

A reminder to cherish those closest before they drift away

By Rohitha LankaPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Sometimes... we forget

Two people who have been together for a while

From being far away, they become close people

But sometimes, we are so close that we can't see

Before, we used to talk better

We used to be more considerate of each other

We used to care for each other more

We are so used to each other that we forget to give time

We forget to value the other person

Because we think that we will see each other tomorrow

When we go home, he/she has not disappeared

So we look at things that are far away first

We think that we have to hurry up and do work

We think that we have to be considerate of "other people"

We think that we can wait until we have some free time and find time for him

How do the people close to us feel? How stressed are they?

We don't notice that much

Even though we should be considerate of the people closest to us

We should stop looking at the screen and look at each other's faces

The money we earn doesn't make us feel less tired than

The simple words "Are you tired today?"

Because on the day we are suffering, we are not well

We look for someone who will listen to our stories

It is not someone far away, but

Someone close to us that we have forgotten to value for a long time

If today, if there is still a chance, go back and hug him

Go back and ask them to cheer up if they are tired.

Because if we still forget to take care of those close to us,

They may become distant people as well.
