I didn’t belong
in black and white,
‘cos color’s not for us’.
And as the rain
Stained me blue I
No longer earnt their love.
The blue ran away,
Bleeding into my world,
Taking the days and nights with it.
I begged for mercy,
... For the grave,
…… for forgiveness.
I abandoned the search
for nothing,
Accepting all was lost.
When suddenly they
breached the hill,
fighting blue at any cost.
Yellow Rebels, Plum Punks, Coral Goddexx…. wow.
Soldiers of Technicolor Hope.
I listened to their battle cries,
I watched them raise their flags.
I screamed, ‘are we free yet?’
‘No’ the bloodied screamed back.
I stared into the scars they wore,
With might, and joy, and pride.
A colonel grabbed my hand,
Their grip saying “No need to hide”
I scared-ly stepped out of the trenches,
Knowing my life’s for those before me.
To join their battalion of beauty,
Fighting to live in versicolored glory.
