I woke this morning to the tink, tink, tinkling of raindrops against my windowpane. It wasn't a demanding, threatening rain...but instead, it was inviting, calming, and so good for my soul. "I needed that," I thought as my sweet Pit, Mr. Boss nudged me with his cold nose and smiley face.
I needed that calm reassurance (the one from above that I heard from the slow and steady growling of thunder in the distance.) It reminded me that today, like everyday, He is in control... and the world...my world (my country especially,) was going to be fine.
No matter what is to come, He will make a way and it will all work out according to His plan. I have come to believe and stand firm on, that He operates from a core of Love and He is concerned more for our character than our comfort. Having said that, there is comfort in knowing He will never abandon us and will provide our needs. He will give me strength.
He is enough. And I am confident His will prevails for His greater purpose. But for now, the rain soothes me...even if it is election day. If we need a spanking and need to be humbled, so be it. He will appoint that. If we need a time to prosper and glory in good, let it be! But I will give Him praise and rest in His peace. Either way, He will not have moved an inch in His Heavenly Kingdom, my eternal home. Since He will not be moved, so neither will I be.
Thank you, Lord for the soft rainy lessons you give to me.

You Must Be Angry
Have you ever made a mountain crop out of nothing? Or changed the course of a river? How about changed a king's mind? Have you caused autumn to become a winter? Or even talked a butterfly out of a cocoon? Could you do all these things if only you had a magic wand or just the right words for an incantation? I think not. Yet in your (Opti-mystic) arrogance you deny that something might be greater than yourself. It must be wonderful to be the master of your own world and being. But can you make it last forever? Nope!

The steps to losing a child
Step One: Lose a child. Not what anyone wants to happen and nothing you can do to change it, but you can go through steps to becoming happy again. You can go through steps to loving again. You can go through steps to become a new you because after losing a child you will never be the same person you once were.
