“What doesnt lose potency?
The prose and the poetry;
Dangling at the edge of the precipice,
I presuppose my skyscraping edifice will pose as prominent;
I honor it - this monument’s a testament of providence, yet is provisional:
This building never looks identical - it changes:
Some renovations are appartent, others are subliminal;
I’ll run up to the top level to review the views
- I’m staring forward: This is the outlook that I choose:
From these heights?
I see a lot of people, lots of motion -
I can’t make out all their traits, but I do catch their emotion;
I believe that empathy can counter commotion and ground;
If we aim to understand another, how could we confound?
If we accept each other’s differences - discern and allow:
We’d get a city with a skyline from a disjointed town.”
