Silence in Minor

Dear Mother Moon,

How are you on this glorious, radiant Luna eve

How serene and tranquil is your aura tonight

Unperturbed, you distil soporific, calming light

Bathing me in a pure and serene ambience.

I know that it has been a while since I visited

Please forgive my tardiness in paying homage

to your magnificence...But, you see

I have this need to walk and speak with you,

While basking in your soothing, somnolent beauty.

For lately...I find the world perturbing and disturbing

It has become so loud...so excruciatingly resounding.

Even in the stillness of sleep...It roars.

Becoming so thunderous!

I scream in silent agony

Finding myself wanting - needing...

Desperately, to step outside of the noise

Beyond the clamor and the roars

Beyond the summons of want - Just...

Out There...Where I find silence waiting

And the air beyond has its own texture...

Like wading into a gentle creek or stream

Where only my breathing speaks in volumes

Out here...where I am ME - Unvarnished

Unencumbered

Without the need to display, compare or explain.

Just me...Existing.

I find that with you by my side - Mother, I can go

Gently stepping through jagged chaos

Into many a serene, golden landscape,

Walking beside myself, barefoot and breathing...

I have the need to step out - not away - but through

Through the static that clings like burrs to my skin,

through the chorus of shoulds and the clatter of clocks

that mistake urgency for desperation.

The noise has teeth,. Silence has breath.

And I followed it , like a thread pulled from the hem

of my own unraveling.

Out here, the wind doesn’t ask for credentials.

The sky doesn’t compare my ache to anyone else’s.

Even the trees forget my name

and still offer shade

Poised, radiant, and moon-kissed, my attire sways with quiet dignity, my heels tap a rhythm only the stars understand, and my letter to Mother Moon glows with the yearning of wisdom.

I walk with feet dusted in silver, writing each step as a syllable,

each breath a line you’ve already read.

Your light does not interrogate - it listens.

It gathers my scattered thoughts like fallen petals

and presses them into quiet bloom.

I tell you of the ache that wears no name,

of the joy that startles like a child’s laugh in the dark.

You do not answer.

You reflect.

And in your silence, I remember how to be whole

Without needing to be loud.

I smile...walking in grace, luminous, and deep in communion with the night. The moonlight wraps around me with a gentle recognition, and my letter unfolds like a spell.

I am content.
