She's a Mermaid

Where the water is wide

By Grace KentPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Lost in the ocean blue

Where the water is wide

floating on the ocean green

Sacred of what’s underneath and never to be seen

Her hips move her through the water

A world of colours underneath

Pinks, Oranges, Reds and Yellows

You stole her colours, you thief

Now she’ll never feel as though she fits in

You’ve separated her from the beautiful

And she’ll never be the same again

But you didn’t know that colours grow back and she’ll be more than just your fool

She's a mermaid;

Seaweed for hair

Long slender arms

And scales reflecting everyone else's colours

Lost in the ocean blue

Where the water is wide

floating on the ocean green

Scared of going under and to again, never be seen

About the Creator

Grace Kent

Hi, I’m Grace, I am trying to be more confident in my writing, but how can I unless I share?

Writing has been a passion of mine for a long time and it’s taking some guts for me to put it out there, but I’m excited.

I hope you enjoy my work!
