Shame

Fog

By Michael LewisPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The yearly yield when life grew and prospered like yeast in heat

A month of malnutrition in damp time like withered wheat

Now

Never

When

One day

Bread spread shared

Sead split balanced bribed

Oat like oak smoked and shared harmoniously like fur for the frozen

Why

Where

Then

Some day

Wage wielded then peeled halved and halved again till we starve

Starve

Starve

Starve

And beg

Crumb button and rag

Risk ready for fame with shame lurking

Shame asking

Shame tracking

Shame tracing pacing

Shame

sad poetry
