some prefer the sprightly stolen song of mockingbird,

others the light airy chirp of chickadee and finch.

but tune my ear to the desolate caw of crows

husky croak of ravens,

echo in the mist

rattling through the fallen leaves -

a dissonant dirge delightful

herald of the Ancient Ones
