Put a band aid on my heart.

I fell down the stairs,

Sew me up, pull it tight.

Don’t pretend that you care.

I fell down the stairs, this morning.

When I heard you knocking on the windows.

But it was just my tears, hitting the pillow.

Fell out into the garden, overgrown with your lies and deceit.

Behind it all a rose bush was hidden, how long was she there?

Thorns to my skin, prick me dead?

Was it worth it?

See me now and sew me up again.

Nice and tight.

Put a band aid on my heart.

I fell down the stairs, tripping over the things we lost.

I hit my head on the bathroom mirror, and suddenly it became so very clear.

Put a band aid on my heart.

Sew me up, nice and tight.

Stop me bleeding from the inside.

Just promise me it wasn’t red?

Red like the girl in my head.

Red like the things I possess.

Red like the girl I used to be.

Where did we go?

Put a band aid on my,

Heart.
