Several stitches on my once seamless heart

A poem about heartbreak

Life; You don't get out of it alive,

Or unscathed for that matter,

A once seamless heart,

Can so easily tatter.

From a misspent youth,

That once first love of your life,

Who stabbed you once with his manhood,

And the other with a knife.

When he told you, you were the only one for him,

To get you in bed.

But you then realised,

Love was only a word he had said.

Not meant or felt,

And certainly not for you,

That relationship went on to teach

You a lesson or two.

You would be cheated on,

And lied to, betrayed time and again,

And you would try everything in your power

Not to complain.

For your once seamless heart,

Has several stiches now,

From the hurt you have felt,

But recovered from somehow.
