As bombs fall from the sky,

We are torn apart, you and I.

Our love, it seemed unbreakable,

But now, in war, it's become a fable.

We knew this day would come,

When duty called, and we must succumb.

To the call of country, the call of fight,

Leaving behind the ones we hold dear and tight.

But though we are miles apart,

Our love still beats within my heart.

I'll think of you every step of the way,

Hoping and praying for the end of this fray.

I'll keep you close, always in mind,

As I struggle through this war, so unkind.

For though we are separated, our love remains true,

A sacrifice I make, for me, and for you.
