The Ultimate Caged Fury

A villanelle about the Elimination Chamber

By Clyde E. DawkinsPublished about 4 hours ago 1 min read

In chains of steel the circle stands unyielding

Six souls locked where mercy never dwells

Pods hold the damned while two begin the bleeding

The buzzer screams, another door is peeling,

A fresh predator joins the ringing hells

In chains of steel the circle stands unyielding

The ring becomes a cage of pain, unfeeling

Bodies crash on grated floor and rails

Pods hold the damned while two began the bleeding

Each interval births fury, no concealing

The hate that every entrant soon compels

In chains of steel the circle stands unyielding

They climb, they fall, the structure sends them reeling

No count, no DQ, just pins and anguished yells

Pods hold the damned while two began the bleeding

One final breath, one last defeated kneeling

The last man stands amid the tolling bells

In chains of steel the circle stands unyielding

Pods hold the damned while two began the bleeding
