Seeing Without Seeing

I was once among many,

I could remember in my head what it was like

Seeing all the shades of colour and I would tend to wonder how the world could end up so nice,

It happened when I was a kid,

I had saved a man's life,

I got him out the way but chemicals entered my eyes and my vision paid the ultimate price,

My sight turned to black,

I used to remenise a lot,

till you appreciate the little things like those floating rainbow dots,

A decade and a half later,

A lot of things have changed,

having 'sight' was an illusion, an unnoticed contusion and losing sight made my senses superhuman,

I can feel the electricity in the walls

The walls feel like plasma balls

Touch is so sensitive that if i just hold you, should your blood flow seem odd I'd definitely mention it

Hearing is impeccable but scary

While at home it always keeps me alive

reason why is because if I focus enough your breathing tells me where you hide,

Cookings created a phobia of sort,

It makes eating out so scary for me,

When I eat I taste everything that is so good but also things that shouldn't be

My sense of smell reveals everything

the ambrosial and putrid,

I could smell the food you ate hours ago cause your breath couldn't hide it

So yes I may be blind

What I'm saying is the truth

You can see through your eyes and enjoy the colors but I think I 'see' more than you
