Secrets locked away
Hide them and shush

Secrets locked away
Secrets kept deep inside our head,
unspoken words, too sharp to shed.
They echo softly, yet remain,
like whispers lost in falling rain.
Beneath the quiet of our midnight mind,
whispers stir where shadows bind.
We think, we turn them in the dark,
each thought a spark, a silent mark.
In the dark, our secrets dance and sway,
tangled dreams that never see the day.
Yet lips stay closed—the weight is there,
a burden we refuse to share.
A tender ache in every hidden word,
unsung verses that go unheard.
In that silence, they softly gleam,
a secret language, our inner dream.
In fragile moments, the veil may part,
revealing fragments of our guarded heart.
For even in the depths where silence clings,
hope is woven through the smallest things.
Take your secret to the grave don’t dare tell
They could make someone’s life living hell.
Things you or they have done lock away
Lips shut tight, some things you should not say.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

At times this is good advice, but the situation of the secret should always be considered before letting the cat out of the bag. Good job.
Your poem carries a deep, haunting beauty, capturing the weight of secrets with such raw emotion. The imagery of locking away pain, yet feeling its persistent presence, really resonated with me.
