On The Rising
In a world where we should be showing kindness
We are living in a mental health crisis
People’s loved ones are dying
Suicide is rising
The system is failing us
Betraying us
Disabling us
Debilitating never ending cycle of sadness
Living within the walls of our madness
They say man up
Crack on
Go for a walk
Go for a run
Let’s get messed up it will be fun
PTSD and anxiety
Suffocating our society
And like a ship without its mooring
Depressing lurks in the background
And hits you without warning
The government need to be made accountable
Instead of inconsequential
All around us people are dying
And the rates of suicide are rising

No Shame in my Game
Dear World (Or whoever is out there reading or listening), Let me say this loud and clear so you can all hear it, even from the back row. LOVE YOURSELF!!! I know at times this can be hard. For years I struggled with my self image and being positive about my body. The amount of nights out that were ruined because I felt I looked overweight in an outfit or not curvy enough, I cant even count on both hands or toes for that matter. My whole life I have gone from being a size 8 to a size 18, which is what I am now. And for the longest time I worried about what I looked like and what other people would think of me, I was never happy with anything. But as I have got older I have realised that this is the most destructive thing you can do to your soul and your heart. Talking badly about yourself is just as bad as talking badly about other people and placing your self worth on what others think is a complete and utter waste of time, you basically just go round in circles. This body you have been given may not seem perfect to you, but your eyes are what can make you see your legs are what keep you walking but most importantly your heart and your kindness are what people will remember you for. The way you made them feel and the way you carried yourself. A little exercise I like to do every day is to look in the mirror and force myself to name three things I like about my body. Some days that is more of a struggle than others I wont lie, but once I have done this more often than not I feel confident and ready to take on the day ahead.
