The Moon- it looks, searching, spotting, seeing,

like a white beam in the night,

it looks down at me.

The Moon- it tries, searching, spotting, seeing,

like a yellow ball to replace the sun,

it looks down at you.

The Moon- it sighs, searching, spotting, seeing,

like a figure of light in the darkness of night,

it looks down at them.

The Moon- what does it do?

It searches,

It spots,

It sees.

The Moon- it repeats over and over again,

like a replacement to the bright of day,

it looks down at me.

The Moon- it smiles, searching, seeking, finding,

a face in the sky,

it looks down at us.

Very beautiful poem, I love how the refrain of "searching/spotting/seeing" structures and holds up the poem. Refrain or repetition of lines is a great way to add form and musicality to a free-verse poem. And you are already experimenting with variation and development of your refrain. Excellent!
