Schizophrenia

The Dance

By Phoebe CarmichaelPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

I've suffered from Psychosis (Schizophrenia) since I was 13-years-old. Voices, visions, smells, feelings, men, women, monsters, animals. You name it. However, not all of my hallucinations have a threat stained on them. Some are simply meant to be heard. Here, we examine the disorder as a man in a suit. Dark brown hair and lingering dark eyes. We envision the struggle with the illness as a dance. The woman is struggling to let go and free herself, but the man just won't let the music stop.

"I've danced with you since I was 13.

Your hand in mine, showing me your world.

The men, the women, the animals.

The monsters.

When you bring them to me, I beg you to hold me.

But you don't.

Your brown eyes crinkle with delight as I struggle to escape your clutches.

You spin me around, your black tie tight to your broad chest.

My white dress slowly fades to yellow as you pull me closer.

The monster has returned.

I open my mouth but no words escape.

Your deep laughter serenades my ears into terror.

I try to close my eyes, but you force them open.

As you plant your lips on mine, tears roll from my cheek.

If only I could destroy the real monster.

The one that lies inside me."

It is just telepathy. Yes, other human's telepathy being used to disturb or harass you. Because it is very easy to think, that's why it's very easy to disturb you forever. Don't be so afraid of other human's telepathy. Learn shielding your mind someday.
