Oh Albania,

For when I beheld the Balkans region

I knew no other jewel

As pristine in the region

In awe and wow.

Sights of Vjoza river shooting its tongue

Gently caressing craving canyons

Fostering no-fasting forests

Wading patiently waiting wetlands

The crystal-clear showers of Shala river

to Accursed Mountains (Bjeshkët e Namuna) and yonder

Perfect reason for healthy and healing kayaking

A coastline that organically meshes Albanian Riviera

Talk about the joy sights of Ksamil, Dhermi, Himara

Where one takes in the tender arts of nature

Wholesome but never getting enough of it

Koman Lake Albanian Alps reservoir

’tis so unique in its scenery

In a manner one to have enough of it would be a lie

But just when Valbona Valley videomatic peaks,

cast one captive, Butrint National Park winks at you

So irresistibly luring

The reason UNESCO wants it inherit alone,

For themselves, in guise of world heritage

So that they spend rare romantic nights in Butrint

In this historic-age well-preserved ancient Greek and Roman city

You’ll not get enough of it.

Forget not the large laps of Prespa National Park,

So beckoning that Albania affords joint fondling it

With North Macedonia, and Greece.

Its two large lakes, Prespa Lake and Small Prespa Lake

Justify this promiscuity with neighbour nations.

I will allow this infinite infidelity

If only it continues to house the endangered rare life as

Balkan lynx, brown bear and oh those birds!

I award you the best kept natural scene of Europe medal.

Take this medal on these conditions:

• I had a dream of clean air with few electric individual cars.
• I dreamt of enforced beautiful coastline good for swimming
• I dreamt ocean and waters void of
• Industrial wastewater and agric runoff
• In the dream I saw an excellent public transport
• And children and adults and all.
