"I think we need some space" she said,

As if we both agreed,

Then looked away and took her hand,

As I melted subtly.

I mumbled something back at her - some desperate quiet plea,

As tears tried hard to push through lash, and then embarrass me.

My stomach gave his protest, as he coiled up like a snake,

My heart felt like a spike of ice was trying to make him break.

In an instant thoughts flood over me, warm rush of memories,

The smiles, the kisses, the touch, the love...

She forgets so easily.

I wonder if she feels the same, but I daren't looking up to ask,

I know the tears will beat me then,

I just cope with that,

I glimpse a world without her, but that would is grey and dark,

The sun is gone, the leaves are dead, the dogs have lost their bark.

People do not smile there, the birds sing songs of gloom,

Then my eyes snap open and I'm brought back to the room,

If I'd known the last time I held her, was a moment I'd never again see,

I'd give my all to have found a way,

To keep it for eternity.

Completely given up on the chance of winning any challenges. There's possibly some sort of hidden rule which bans guys with huge dicks from winning. My investigation has not yet concluded.. .

So many wonderful lines, but I loved this - "My heart felt like a spike of ice was trying to make him break"
