Sand Kisses

passion never dies

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

The ocean is lapping and foaming

Just a few feet away from us

We are laying on an old beach blanket

In the sand.

At the beach.

Tasting and breathing the salt in the air

And on each other’s lips.

Falling in love with you

All over again

SAND KISSES.

Forty years from our first kiss

Seagulls winging lightly in the air

The hot sun baking our bodies

As the sand kisses warm our hearts and souls

Little children building sandcastles

Laughing and screaming not far from us

And teenage couples saunter up and down the beach

Babies just learning about love

They think they invented romance

And are the first to ever feel this way

But they just don’t know

SAND KISSES

Two old people in their sunset years

Yet, the fire still burns hot

A middle-aged couple walks past us

The man jokingly says,

“Hey, Grandpa, get a room.”

So you just kiss me harder

As the man chuckles and kisses his own wife.

SAND KISSES

Oh, the stories we could tell

SAND KISSES
