With most intense of all poetic forms,

I will paint for you without naming colours.

My memories.

.

Kyoto, blazing sunny day

Joins centuries that passed and lost bushido spirit,

I’ll find the bygone path in silence.

.

Silence, I am captivated

By Inary and her endless torrii.

Vermilion Goddess Fox.

.

Fox, I feel her watch me

Each time I step under the sacred gate,

I step between the worlds.

.

The world of royal gold

Framed by the splendor of midori foliage,

Kinkakuji Pavilion

.

Pavilion sees itself in the Mirror Pond

Reflection that competes with man-made edifice,

Impregnable.

.

Impregnable Kinkakuji, yet it has seen the fire

For its perfection went beyond

The human soul could take.

.

Taken and concealed by night

I cross the wooden bridge, to find the narrow path and lantern on the door

I hear my heartbeat..Gion

.

Gion, my eyes remember the swing of sensu.

What a name for a geiko’s fan, so enticing ...

Sakura sensu in her hand.

.

Enchanted by enigma of Kyoto,

I am only leaving to return,

In memories.

.

The most intense of all poetic forms,

The subtle art of naming without giving names.

My memories in haiku.
