Scarlett

my creation on a mother's day... to all women and mothers!

If I had a daughter, I would name her Scarlett,

Scarlet, like a flower I saw once in my dreams,

Yes, that tricky hue that at night turns purple,

And at midday turns to burning flames.

With you, dazzling child, we’d have much fun together,

Eating croissants on a crispy winter day,

Drawing snowflakes on a frosty window,

Nights, we’ll count the stars of the Milky Way.

And when summer comes, we’d swim in turquoise ocean,

Splashing, laughing, diving in the blue-to-teal,

Silver laughter, salty cheeks, your eyes reflect horizon,

Can’t keep up with you and this youthful zeal!

Little thing, I wish that I could promise

That you’ll never feel any sad or blue,

That I keep you safe from mistakes or doubts,

But I won’t do that as it won’t be true.

Dear little child, you will learn to grow,

And explore the world and explore yourself,

And to find your passions, your beliefs, and virtues

That takes time and courage, bad days and good days.

And you’ll grow strong, and you start creation

Of your own world, and give birth to life…

You will be a woman, that alone is blessing.

And your life for you - canvas for insight.

Hence from all the names on the world known palette,

I will name you Scarlett, strong, and vivid hue ,

That at night turns purple, deep, and pensive colour,

And on midday turns to burning orange - blue.
