A new torch bearer steps forward,

To light the way for those who cannot light it for themselves.

I see my loved ones in vivacious shades of green,

Who provide life, laughter, and fresh air,

Allowing me to breathe easier

Than when the polluted traumas that stifle my breath

More and more with each passing day

I see myself in stained glass windows.

Pieces of broken beauty,

A vision of the mosaic that has come to fruition.

Each piece carefully placed by the hands of the fates,

Forming divine artwork, worthy of the gods.

A rainbow of life saturating the world around me,

To resist being blinded to the darkness of the world.

For each sunset is followed by a beautiful sunrise,

And I sit patiently, waiting for the sunlight to stream through.
