Romance of the broken

Finding heaven in your soul

By Nadine HaighPublished 7 days ago Updated 7 days ago 1 min read

The world is never the same for each sets of eyes that see it,

In some it shines with bright yellows and oranges, rose pinks and violent purple

For others it is shades of black with darker shades of grey

For every one of us the world spins at a different pace

Sometimes like a rollercoaster fast and unstopping

Another like the river ride, slow, soothing and meandering

In worlds where we all see with a different perception sometimes two hearts will find each other waiting

In that moment when all she sees is black and shadow, a light now dawns that gives subtle hues to begin

Then as each day passes and the trust begins to build

she sees a world of more colour than she ever thought she would behold.

The difference of the abled is the difference of perception

Where most don't see a struggle going on he sees HIS perfection

Gradually the years pass by and age creeps around each corner

Each day a new challenge in health and each end of day a challenge accepted.

The sweet release of love between two bodies and soul,

One almost whole the other broken

I don't know how or why it works and plenty have said it never works

There's something that is yet still to be said for when perfect meets imperfection

A level of dysfunction coated in chaotic function that just works

A level of dis-identity where she struggles to stay as one identity,

protected by the knowledge his identity is his own and hers to share

Strong arms that lift the weary body,a full heart to lift the soul a memory is all that remains of a love that once was gold

No longer here in body or mind the spirit shall linger on until the day she reaches down to him and they then become one soul

sad poetry
