Rising

Through the wave of life

By Virginia ShefcykPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Rising when I wake

A few footsteps that I take

Leading me through to my outside world

The wind caresses me as I prepare to board

I board the train that is leading me out

My destination is what I doubt

I feel I am below the waves

A passenger on this ride that never pays

As I feel this train is moving

I ask myself what it is that I'm doing

I want to be more

But I've become such a bore

Leading this mundane life

I'm consumed by my strife

Why do I suddenly feel so warped

Inside the earth, I feel its warmth

The temperature is rising

This ride is becoming quite surprising

Leaping up, onto my feet

I am rising

I can fly

I am rising

I can touch the sky

I've grown my wings

So away I'll go

I'll be better now

I am free from my sorrow

I am rising

I am one with the sun

I lead my conscious to what's above

I'm good, I'm free

This was meant to be

I am rising above, this was meant for me

I no longer question my life's natural purpose

I gather my thoughts and direct its devotion

To myself I make a promise

I will only do what makes me calmest

I continue my direction

I breath it all in

Leading my life is the way that I'll win

I am rising within the deepest depths of myself

The deeper I go, the more interesting it gets

But I am rising

I am all set to go

So here I am

I've begun the show
