The Capital City,

Of the Commonwealth of Virginia,

The Foundation on which the state is built,

The James River,

Always full of silt,

The history set deep within,

The Capital Square,

I always walk,

See the huge pediments,

Made of chalk,

Broad Street,

All through the night,

It keeps up a good beat,

Trains on the trestle,

Downtown busy,

People, cars, busses,

Alot of noise,

No one fusses,

This is a city,

Steeped in history,

There is normally no mystery,

As to the beauty of this city,

At night,

Seems pretty,

This is Richmond,

The capital,

The fount of our Commonwealth.
