Reward and Responsibility
Humans need security and it decides who they form relations with

People may not know
a lot other things,
but they are well-versed,
in the concept security —
and they chase it,
all their life.
They recognize,
reward from responsibility,
and they seek the former.
shirking the latter.
They connect with people,
who seem like rewards,
warm up to them,
and invite them in.
But they run away
from those who seem,
like responsibility —
they avoid them like plague,
or like a vampire.
They make a mountain,
out of a molehill,
of flaws of those
they see as burdens.
This biased mindset,
is the root cause
of all relation problems.
The attraction to rewards,
the fear of responsibility—
in the quest to security,
shapes all human bandings.

Security is important it is just how we get it that is important and feeling the responsibility in a good way too.
You make some good points about how people's pursuit of security affects their relationships. I've seen this in my own life, where people often choose easy connections over dealing with real issues.
