Resilience

Inspired by Nature

I find peace as I stand, thinking among the trees

As my hair is blown gently by a warm summer breeze

I find strength as I stand at the base of mountains, tall and still

As I forge ahead on paths worn of sheer will.

I find inspiration as salty water laps my toes

and the tides go on dancing with the waves, to and fro.

In each corner of the land, I see beauty that stands

in quiet resilience in defiance of man.

Forces of nature cannot be stopped

As roots break through concrete

and end up on top.

Mountains go on, piercing the clouds.

Forests regrow when razed to the ground

The ocean goes on dancing, rising to meet the storms

Each will see the setting of the sun

and I know they’ll be there when a new day’s begun.
